A sigh slipped from your soft lips as you lounged on your bed. Layers of soft, puffy quilts spread under and above you in a sort of comforting embrace. Unfortunately, they did nothing to comfort you as you wallowed in your warm room. Your younger brother stood at your door and snickered as your blood-related parent wandered around your room picking up laundry while trying to get to the 'root of the problem'.

"Now, sweetheart! Why on earth would you want to be sitting in your room while you could be out caroling with your friends?" They chimed, unaware that 'caroling' in this context meant; let's go out drinking, dancing, and hooking up with random guys. Now, you were never that kind of girl, and your friends respected that. However, they always swung by and offered when they were going out.
"Guh... Ah, look... I just met someone at camp and it's already hard enough not being by their side for nearly a whole year... But... Gah! You wouldn't get it..." You huffed. Oops... Should've selected those words more carefully...
"Did you really try to pull that card on me?" They gasped dramatically. "I have not seen your 'godly' parent since the moment you were born! Pah! Some parent they are! Can't even pay child support or something!" You tugged a plump pillow onto your face to possibly try to suffocate yourself. Maybe then you'd see Nico or something... "Any how... What's eating at you?"
"Er... There's this boy I met... And we're... Ah... Kinda in a relationship..." You paused for a second, " And... Well... Knowing I could be spending time with him all the while I'm stuck here..." Your mortal parent frowned.
"Ah, well... Now... Go help your sibling's write a letter to Santa!" You groaned at their order but managed to crawl out of bed and into the halls. "And for gods sack! Write one yourself!"

Your parent was actually serious when they told you to write one. A serious one. You were currently on your seventh paper. You chewed on your pencil as you thought of something you actually wanted, not something fake like 'world peace'. Which would be great if you were at a beauty pageant! No. What was something you truly wanted. Something you'd give your right leg for... Removing the pencil and biting your lip, you brought the pencil down and started to smoothly write the first thing that came to mind. 'All I want for Christmas is; Nico Di Angelo under the mistletoe!'

You rolled out of bed in the morning. Literally! Your entire body hurt! Well... It actually hurt your rump in specific. Looking up at your calender, you read the day circled in both red and green. The twenty-fifth. Christmas. Years before camp, you always woke up with an excited start on this day. Now, However... Christmas didn't seem so... Oh, what's the word? Appealing... Yeah, that's it! There was nothing that seemed to lull your attention it's way!

Grumbling, you shuffled your way to a spare bomber jacket that Nico gave you (that, may I add, was way too big on the both of you). It was the closest thing that has made you smile since you've left camp until the next summer. No one really new how or why it did. Maybe because it smelled of cedar* and Nico's natural musk. Or maybe because Nico gave it to you. Or maybe even because it was Nico's. Either way you looked at it, Nico was in the equation.

Slipping on the warm leather, you shuffled to your door. As you reached for the nob, it turned and was pulled away. A strangled yelp escaped your lungs as you saw your brother's scowling face pop through the crack created. "No coming out yet!"
"But... Why?" You asked.
"You no-!"
"Okay! Don't you dare finish that!"
"Good. Now, I was told to tell you to turn around and not look!" Huffing, you wobbled to your bed and sat.

Beginning to feel anxious, you cuddled closer to the coat. Staring blankly at your wall, you heard scuffling behind that made temptation nearly em-bearable. However, you suffered through. "Okay~!" Your mortal parent chuckled, clamping their hand over your eye's. Great! Surprises! You just loved surprises! Getting up, off your bed, you did your best not to stumble.

Raising your arms up a bit you felt around before your hands seemed to grasp a mix of cool leather and warm cotton fabric. "Surprise!" Your mortal parent cheered, removing their hand and shuffling their way out the door and away.

You lightly held your breath as your hands gripped his shirt and coat tighter. Cedar and natural musky fumes filled your nose as you peered into his onyx eyes. "N-Nico!" You squeaked as you leaned into his form, his arms slunk around your waist. "I've missed you so much!" You teared up. Nico chuckled as he whipped away the salty tears.
"I've missed you too," Nico smiled, which nearly gave you a heart attack. You bite your bottom lip as you starred into his eye's. They always seemed to give you a satisfied taste of two sides; safety and danger, calm and excitement, clarity and insanity. He was everything, and yet, he was nothing. In all honesty, now that you thought about it... That's what made him perfect!

Hearing a bit of shuffling, both you and Nico stole a glance above. There, a mistletoe was hastily placed above. A blush stained your cheeks as you glanced at each other. You smiled at each other as you began to lean into each other... So close... Flash! You both blinked. Turning to your right, you saw your devious brother snickering, "Oh, this is going to be good! Wait until I show my friends!" Thought's? Yeah, ew!
"Why, you little twerp!" You snarled, about to go and use him as a punching bag. However, before you could, slender fingers snaked their way under your chin and guide you to slightly chapped lips. Holy... Was that a spark? Oh gods! The fire works! Fire works! Unfortunately, just as quickly as it started, it ended. In a haze, you nearly missed what he said, "Now... Why don't we go and open present's downstairs with the rest of your family?" He smiled, again... Holy! He's going to give you a heart attack with all of these smiles (not saying it's a bad thing).

You heard a semi-quiet clunk and looked down, Nico had dropped his bags that seemed packed with stuff for the next while. Excitement bubbled in you as you began to pull him away. Before, however, you snuck in a peck and a couple words, "Thank you Nico, this is the best Christmas present ever. I love you..."
Why does Nico for some reason smell like cedar? Well... It's more for the symbolic reason!
*Cedar — i live for thee, think of me
So... Yeah! I've been working on bit's and patches of it all day! Seriously! Any how... Have a happy Christmas Eve, Christmas day and have a very awesome New Year!
